Russia agrees to cancel roaming fees, Belarus next

The payment for incoming calls in the Union State is going to be abolished no later than September 2020, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia reports.

According to spokesman Evgeny Novikov, who spoke with TASS agency, the final version of the road map, which provides for the termination of roaming, has been agreed and signed by Russia and awaits signing by Belarus.

According to him, proposals for its legislative consolidation should be ready in March 2020. The fee for incoming calls in roaming between the countries is to be abolished within six months after that.

“By that time all technical, organizational and other events to ensure the correct routing and billing of roaming calls should have been completed,” said Novikov.

Earlier it was reported that the document on abolition of roaming between Belarus and Russia may be signed by September 15, 2019 — that is, more than three months ago.
