Teachers in Niasvizh to do voluntary unpaid work during epidemic

Teachers at secondary school No. 3 in Niasvizh have complained to the “Basta!” telegram channel that they are sent to do the collective cleaning of the school grounds during the coronavirus epidemic and schools vacations.

The “Subbotnik” is to be held on Tuesday, April 7, within the framework of the improvement month, announced by the Chairman of the Niasvizh district executive committee Alyaksandr Lomski last week.

“I really want to ask for help. There is a coronovirus epidemic in the country, and teachers from schools are told to clean the forest or improve the school grounds during the holidays. Sorry, we don’t think that if we have a teacher’s diploma, we’re immortal. The village schools have been sent to work remotely. Why do city schools have to do this nonsense? Why forest? Why clean the grounds?” the teachers get quoted in the telegram channel.

On April 4, members of the Niasvizh District Council of Deputies took part in a Saturday clean-up day of the city territory. As Nyasvizhskiya Naviny wrote, they planted 130 willow trees in the Karchmita street. They did this “in a friendly and organized manner”.
