Russian Tatarstan ready to provide Belarus with oil field access

On December 12, President of Tatarstan (a constituent entity of the Russian Federation) Rustam Minnikhanov paid an official visit to Minsk and met with the head of Belarus. After talks with Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Minnikhanov said that Belarus could get an opportunity to develop oil in Tatarstan.

“Remember, Lukashenka said the other day “not fish, but a fishing rod in hand”? The phrase is in line with today’s negotiations of the president with the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Tatarstan could give us fields, and we will get oil ourselves. Or jointly,” says the state-owned Telegram channel “Pool of the First One”.

In 2016, Lukashenka already offered Tatarstan cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

Currently, Tatarstan has set up production of Belarusian MTZ tractors and Mogilevliftmash” elevators.

Belneftekhim consortium has confirmed the signing of the Russian oil supplies balance in 2020 in the amount of 24 million tons.
