Russian media claims Lukashenka will not visit 'West-2017' stage in Russia

The Russian media outlet reports on the President Lukashenka’s revision of plans regarding his visit to the Russian military test site.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin is to visit one of the stages of the exercise. Initially, it was assumed that Putin will arrive at the Russian polygon with Alyaksandr Lukashenka. However, according to the latest information from the Russian newspaper’s source, the head of Belarus revised its plans and will likely not arrive in Russia.

The joint Belarusian-Russian military exercise “West-2017” started yesterday and will last until September 20. It will involve 12,700 military personnel, including about 3,000 Russians. The drill will take place at seven test sites in different parts of Belarus, as well as in Hlybokaye and the Dretun village.
