The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov, said that the Pentagon had begun to develop a new strategy for conducting military operations called the Trojan Horse. The strategy allegedly provides for the active use of the “fifth column protest potential”.
“The Pentagon has begun to develop a fundamentally new strategy of warfare, which has already been dubbed the Trojan Horse. It boils down to actively using the protest potential of the “fifth column” in the interests of destabilizing the situation while simultaneously striking high-precision weapons at the most important facilities,” he said.
Gerasimov said that Russia is ready to fight this kind of strategy. According to him, the Russian Federation will respond with an “active protection strategy”, which provides for the implementation of a set of measures to prevent threats to the security of the Russian state.
According to Gerasimov, the United States and its allies are working on offensive actions aimed at “eliminating the statehood of unwanted countries, undermining sovereignty, changing the lawfully elected state bodies.”
