Alyaksandr Lukashenka criticised Russia for limiting the supplies of Belarusian products. According to him, it is nothing but ‘ordinary business struggle’.
“If Russia continues to pursue such policy, we will definitely be entering other markets,” he said during Thursday’s meeting with Artur Parfenchikov, Head of the Republic of Karelia, part of Russia.
Russians often blame Belarus for dumping, i.e. delivering cheaper products, Lukashenka stressed.
“Establish a big company, and we will export goods to all regions of Russia through it. Our price is one ruble, and you sell for ten, if you think that Russians are very rich. The case is just unfair competition, it is not about the quality of our products,” the Belarusian leader added.
‘Food wars’ break out between Minsk and Moscow with amazing regularity. According to experts, it is one of the Kremlin’s mechanisms of pressure on the Belarusian authorities.
