Kazakhstan de-russifies national currency

Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev approved a new design of tenge bank notes.

In accordance with the appropriate presidential decree, the inscriptions on the notes and coins are to be made only in the state language.

The residents of the country can use Russian language on a par with Kazakh when appealing to government agencies and local authorities, but only Kazakh has the status of the state language.
