Health Ministry opens charity account to fight against COVID-19


The Ministry of Health of Belarus has opened a charity account to raise funds for the fight against and detection of COVID-19.

These days the Ministry of Health receives many appeals from individuals and legal entities, as well as individual entrepreneurs, with the initiative to provide sponsor assistance to the health care system.

The Ministry of Health has decided to open a charitable account for the purposes like carrying out sanitary and anti-epidemic activities and promoting activities in the field of public health as part of the work to detect and treat patients with COVID-19. The account has been opened in a state institution Republican Center for Medical Response Organization for accumulation and further distribution of funds received, in accordance with the needs of specific health care institutions, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.

We welcome the support of the society and will be able to use the charitable assistance to purchase equipment for laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19, diagnostic kits, protective means, medicines, as well as to provide assistance to patients.

The Ministry of Health opened a charity account after a number of appeals with the proposal “to sponsor the health care system”. The collected money will be used to purchase equipment and laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19, the agency reports.

As of March 16, 1,699 tests for 1 million people were performed in Belarus.

According to the Ministry of Health, 81 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in our country (as of March 24).
