On May 12th, Chairman of the Minsk region executive committee Alyaksandr Turchyn and the leadership of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone tested the first in our country unmanned electric bus, MLYN.BY reports.
The bus is designed based on the technology of scientists from Singapore. The maximum speed of the prototype is 40 kilometers per hour. However, the safe operating speed is slightly lower – around 25 kilometers per hour. The power reserve of the unmanned electric bus is about 180 kilometers. Full charge takes no more than 4 hours.
The bus can be operated in two modes: fully unmanned and manual mode.
The guests made a small circle around the industrial park. After the historic test drive, Alyaksandr Turchyn shared his impressions and spoke about the prospects of the introduction of such transport in Minsk region.
“It’s actually very unusual,” commented the head of the region. “This story began at the end of 2019, when we decided where we would put the 5G test zones. And one of the ideas was to see how an unmanned vehicle would work in an industrial park. Today was the first experience, but I think this is just the beginning”.
The head of the region also had a working meeting with the management of the Great Stone Industrial Park. The parties discussed the implemented and future projects, as well as the current state of affairs in the innovation cluster.
