Belarusian screenwriter nominated for major Russian film award


On January 16, the jury announced the nominees for the Golden Eagle award for merits in the field of Russian cinema and television. Among the nominees is Belarusian Andrei Kureichik: he was noted in the category “Best Screenplay” for his work on the film “Going Vertical”.

Kureichik worked on the script for the film together with Nikolai Kulikov, TUT.BY reports. The film was released worldwide in January last year and became one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Russian cinema.

The Golden Eagle award ceremony will be held on January 25 this year. Among the nominees for the best picture are “Anna’s War” by Alexei Fedorchenko, “Going Vertical” by Anton Megerdichev, “The Story of a Single Appointment” by Avdotya Smirnova, “Ice” by Oleg Trofim and “Spitak” by Alexander Kot.
