Belarus to hold amnesty initiative this year

President Lukashenka has met with the chairman of the Supreme Court. The head of state instructed Valyantsin Sukala to draft a bill on amnesty in connection with the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

They also discussed the prompt opening of the Supreme Court’s new building. It was constructed opposite the presidential palace on Arlouskaya street. Considerable funds were spent on the construction.

“Please tell me when we open our Supreme Court building, we will invite judges. The meeting of the president with the judiciary should be timed to this occasion,” said Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

The courthouse should officially open this year in April.
