Belarus and Russia sign agreement on mutual recognition of visas

Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have signed an agreement on mutual recognition of visas and other issues related to the entry of foreign nationals into the territory of the two countries, the website of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reports.

The document was signed after Sergei Lavrov‘s visit to Minsk.

“The document provides for mutual recognition of national visas and other permits for stay. Thus, foreign citizens get additional opportunities to visit Belarus and Russia on the national visa of one of them. They will be able to enter, leave, stay and transit through the territory of the two states by air, rail and road transport on the roads, defined in the agreement,” said the Foreign Ministry.

The work on the agreement lasted more than two years.
