On Monday, Tatsyana Kuzina, a reputed Belarusian expert in the field of good governance, was detained when going through a passport check-point at Minsk Airport, human rights centre Viasna reports.
The woman was going to board a night flight to Tbilisi.
Tatsyana Kuzina is involved in the BIPART research project, she is a member of the board and a co-founder of SYMPA (School of Young Managers in Public Administration).
The expert was taken to the notorious detention centre on Akrestsin Street in Minsk; she is reported to have been arrested in connection with a criminal case, but no further details are known.
According to TUT.BY, a defence lawyer was allowed to visit Kuzina on Tuesday, but as he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, neither comment on the situation nor additional information are expected.
