Two criminal cases brought against Hrodna blogger Vadimati


The blogger Vadzim Yermashuk (Vadimati) is a suspect in two criminal cases, Hrodna.life reports.

Vadzim is a suspect under Article 368 of the Criminal Code (“Insulting the President”) and Article 370 of the Criminal Code (“Insulting the state symbols”).

The blogger has not yet been charged.

Vadzim was detained in Shchuchyn on August 16. On the third day after his arrest, August 19, Yermashuk was sentenced to 25 days of detention in Shchuchyn District Court under Article 24.23 of the Administrative Code for allegedly urging people to come to a mass sports event – a skateboarding plaza in Shchuchyn. At the end of his term, the blogger received another 15 days under the new article, getting a total of 40 days of administrative arrest.

Also, on September 20, a court hearing may be held under Article 19.11 of the Administrative Code “Distribution, manufacture, storage, transportation of information products containing calls for extremist activities or promoting such activities.”

Relatives say that Vadzim receives many parcels, telegrams, and postcards.
