CIT: Russia relocates 1st Tank Army to border with Ukraine

The 1st Guards Tank Army of the Russian Armed Forces is leaving the range near Voronezh and redeploying additional equipment to the border with Ukraine, reports the Conflict Intelligence Team project.

According to CIT, in recent days, a number of videos with military equipment have appeared online. They were filmed at the Maslovka station on the outskirts of Voronezh, as well as in Belgorod and the Belgorod region.

Experts have concluded that it is the redeployment of forces of the 1st Guards Tank Army to the border with Ukraine.

“This movement of equipment to the border raises particular concerns amid U.S. intelligence warnings about an alleged operation against Ukraine next week and the evacuation of foreign embassies from Kyiv,” the CIT noted.

Russia has been concentrating its troops on the border with Ukraine since November 2021. As of February 8, the Ukrainian side estimated the number of troops at 140,000.

On February 11, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the U.S. was seeing very troubling signs of escalation, including the arrival of new Russian forces to the border with Ukraine. “We have come to a point where an invasion could begin at any moment, including during the Olympics,” Blinken said.
