US senators call on Biden to more actively share intelligence with Ukraine

Members of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee have urged President Joe Biden to give Ukraine maximum access to U.S. intelligence data on a possible Russian invasion, says a letter sent to Biden by 16 senators, the Voice of America reports.

“Russia is the aggressor, and we must arm Ukraine with critical information needed for defense. It is in the national security interests of the United States, as well as our allies and partners in the region. Russia’s threats against Ukraine are a threat to democracy around the world, and we call for everything we can to support Ukraine at this critical time,” the senators wrote in a letter to the U.S. president.

On February 10, the Russian-Belarusian “Union Resolve 2022” drill began. Moscow claims it is not preparing an invasion of Ukraine, but refuses to reduce the number of its troops on the Ukrainian border. In this regard, Western countries are providing financial and military assistance to Ukraine. The EU said it would give Ukraine 1.2bn euros in grants and loans. The United States said it was ready to deploy eight and a half thousand troops to Europe and continues to send military aid to Ukraine.
