The Polish Foreign Ministry reports that the country is ready to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. Warsaw will send the planes to the American Ramstein airbase in Germany.

“The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the president and the government, are ready to immediately and free of charge deploy all its MiG-29 aircraft at the Ramstein airbase and transfer them to the United States government,” the statement said.

At the same time, Poland is asking the United States to provide it with replacement planes with appropriate operational capabilities.

“Poland is ready to discuss the terms of acquiring the aircraft immediately,” the statement said.

The Polish government also calls on other NATO allies with MiG-29s in service to do the same.
