On the morning of October 4, the analysts of the Eurasian Development Bank published the forecast of the Belarusian economy development for the last months of 2021.

The experts claim that according to the calculations of the National Bank of Belarus, the population is experiencing annual inflation of 13.3%, and “increased expectations are one of the key factors for the acceleration of consumer prices this year and carry the risk of fixing inflation at levels higher than the National Bank target.”

Also, analysts of EDB consider that considering the decrease of the grain harvest, the probability of inflation exceeding 10% in September is high.

If such a scenario occurs, they believe, we can’t exclude the possibility of the refinancing rate increase in 2021.
