Dzyanis Nasura, a Minsk resident and leading business analyst at IT company EPAM, was detained on December 9.
On the following day, the infamous GUBOPiK/GUBAZiK (Main Department for Compbating Organised Crime and Corruption) posted a video of the man repenting for his actions on their Telegram. In the video, Nasura admits that he took part in the 2020 protests and was subscribed to several Telegram channels criticising Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime. Then Dzyanis Nasura was placed under arrest for ‘distributing extremist materials’ (Part 2 of Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offences). Later, he was detained for another 10 days on suspicion of committing a crime.
Today it has become known that Dzyanis has not been released as he was charged under Part 1 of Art. 342 of the Criminal Code (‘organisation and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them’), dev.by reports. Taking him into custody for two months has been chosen as a measure of restraint.
On December 31, Dzyanis Nasura was transferred to pre-trial detention centre on Valadarski Street in Minsk. He has four children, including three minors.
