Mikalai Lukashenka

A month has passed since post-election protests broke out in the country.

On August 30, Alyaksandr Lukashenka, the first and still the only president of Belarus, turns 66; his son youngest Mikalai celebrates his 16th birthday. Still, Belarusians are set to protest against vote rigging, police violence and pro-regime propaganda on state TV.

Once again, Lukashenka stressed that he would not give up power.
