Maladzechna-based human rights defender Ales Kaputski has been sentenced to 15 days in jail for the third time in a row, HRC Viasna reports.

It is still unknown on what grounds Ales Kaputski remains behind bars, the human rights centre Viasna reports.

Nineteen people were detained.

On August 25, hundreds of Belarusians paid last tribute to 28-year-old Mikita Kryutsou whose death might be linked to the crackdown on post-election protests in Belarus.

Soon after today’s rally of presidential candidate Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya in the town of Maladzechna, Belsat journalists Zmitser Mitskevich and Dzyanis Dzyuba were grabbed by the local police during the livestream they were conducting.

And they also get high fines.
