Belarus is the last country of the former Soviet Union to celebrate October Revolution Day on November 7.

The organisers of the celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Belarusian People’s Republic in Minsk got a refusal from the local police, RFE/RL reports.

Mass celebrations of the 102nd anniversary of the proclamation of the BNR have been cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic.

In Mahiliou, the celebration of Freedom Day has been moved to late July. According to the organising committee, it is not the time for staging mass events amid the outbreak of COVID-19 in the world.

The organizers cancelled the street party because of the coronavirus situation.
