In the United States, children "starve and eat rats". For the six years that have passed since reporting this infamous story by state-run Belarusian TV, propaganda in the mass media has drastically changed. Currently, their manipulations are often dished up in such form that, at first glance, looks multi-layered and objective. And fake news is so mixed with kernels of truth that lies do not strike even a tutored eye. In the new Belsat TV show Sly News, our journalists deliberately verify information provided by both independent and state-owned media outlets and report the cases of the media’s manipulating viewers, their using truth sparingly, or even uttering falsehoods.
