Ukraine to use fuel from Belarus in fights against Russian-backed separatists

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has named a successfull tenderer for the supply of 15,588 tons of arctic diesel fuel, enkorr.com.ua reports with reference to the auction results in ProZorro system.

According to the quality certificate presented by the winner (Trade Commodity company), the Defense Ministry will receive diesel fuel from Mozyr Oil Refinery (Belarus) and Kremenchug Oil Refinery (Ukraine). It will be delivered within 60 days upon signing the contract.

Arctic fuel is a must-have at extremely low temperatures.

It should be assumed that the fuel will be used during winter fighting pro-Russian militants in eastern Ukraine. And Belarus is an ally of Russia, a producer of crude oil that is then processed iby Belarusian refineries.

The Belarusian side also provides the Ukrainian army with some weapon inventory and means of transport, including subassemblies of MAZ trucks. However, some Belarusian enterprises also trade with separatist republics.
