Ukraine’s ex-leader to work in Trilateral Contact Group again

Leonid Kuchma , a former president of Ukraine (1994-2005), will again lead the Ukrainian side in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas, news agency Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“The first meeting of the TCG, headed by … Leonid Danylovych Kuchma, will take place on June 5,” president Volodymyr Zelensky said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

The talks of the Trilateral Contact Group will be resumed on June, 5, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said earlier. According to him, Zelensky was about to introduce a new team of negotiators.

Two weeks ago, the local media announced ‘resetting’ Minsk groups.

On May 24, the Ukrainian leader held his first meeting with the representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group. He was briefed on the process of negotiations and the current state of affairs.
