The regulator of the nuclear power industry of Turkey have twice found cracks in the foundation of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which is being built by the Russian state corporation Rosatom, the Haberturk reports.

The opening ceremony of the Akkuyu construction site was held with the participation of Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the publication, the first crack was found in July 2018. After Rosatom replaced the concrete, a new crack appeared. The works on its elimination ended in September.
Rosatom reports that the construction of the Akkuyu NPP is proceeding in accordance with the schedule.
The Akkuyu nuclear power plant project includes four power units with Russian VVER-1200 reactor installations (just like at the Belarusian NPP). The project cost is estimated at $ 20 billion.
