Timely gift: Minsk airport receives thermometric robot

The China–Belarus Great Stone Industrial Park has presented a robot to Minsk National Airport.

From now on, the devie will take the passengers’ temperature, the Health Ministry said on Telegram.

The ceremony of gift giving took place on April, 22. It was attended by Deputy Health Minister Barys Andrasyuk, Minsk National Airport Director Vyachaslau Kharaneka, representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus and heads of the industrial park.

As of April 22, there have been 7,281 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Belarus (+558 over the day before); 58 patients have died. However, the Belarusian authorities have not introduced any tough quarantine measures yet. The head of state believes that imposing a nationwide lockdown would not improve the situation in Belarus. In his opinion, such steps might deal a crippling blow to the daily life of Belarusians.
