Five tigers, rescued at the Polish-Belarusian border, arrived in Spain on December 1, where they will live in a shelter.

In order to prepare the animals for transportation, the zoo in Poznan had to be closed for a day and they had to be put to sleep for a while.

According to the zoo officials, the tigers are “all right, warm and under control”.

At the same time, the director of the zoo, Ewa Zgrabczynska, noted that experts continue to fight for two more tigers. And ahead is “a big battle for changes in the law”.

A truck with nine tigers, which was going from Italy to Dagestan, was not allowed to enter Belarus due to the lack of all the necessary documents. The animals were locked in boxes for more than a week, after which they were taken away by Polish zoos.
