Swine fever back to Belarus?

Russia suspects that Belarus hides the info of the African swine fever outbreak in the country.

“Yesterday, the ASF virus was found in ready-made meat products brought from Belarus. One gets the impression that our colleagues from the veterinary service of the Republic of Belarus are hiding the presence of ASF outbreaks on the territory of the republic. And this makes us tighten control when importing products from neighboring countries,” said Minister of Agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev.

Also, Russia will introduce a temporary ban on the supply of pork from Belarus. Such measures are connected with the fact that the ASF genome was found in the sausages “Krakovskaya” and the “Garlic Taste” produced by the Belarusian enterprise “Homiel meat-packing plant”.
