Sound as a bell. Kadyrov comments on his allegedly getting COVID-19

Amid rumours of his being hospitalised with lung disease, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov claims he has no health issues. The politician has not been appeared in public for several days.

Last week, a number of Russian media reported that Chechnya’s had been taken by plane to Moscow. COVID-19 was ‘not confirmed, but suspected’, the sources said.

According to Ramzan Kadyrov, he goes through a standard health and physical examination in Moscow’s Central Clinical Hospital every year.

“Millions of people in the world are infected with the coronavirus, tens of thousands died. Am I not a human being? Don’t I have a right to get sick? Do I have the right to be put on a drip and boost immune system? I am as sound as a bell!” Head of Chechnya said in a live broadcast on Instagram.

He was filmed by Akhmed Dudayev, assistant director of the Grozny State Television and Radio Company.

During the COVID-19 epidemic, the Chechen authorities imposed a curfew, stopped public transport, and barred entry into the region.
