The wireless network is to appear in Russia by 2024. This proposal was made in the Russian national program “Digital Economy”, which was approved by the government.
The network will operate using the LTE-450 technology, which is characterized by high speed and low data transmission delay. Devices in this range can work in radio mode and transmit video, vedomosti.ru reports.
All frequencies in the range of 450 megahertz are used by the company “T2 RTK Holding” (Tele2 brand). The company is ready to participate in the project and is discussing this with the authorities.
The cost of the project is not spelled out in the “Digital Economy” plan. The total cost of the national program is estimated at 73.4 billion Russian rubles (more than $ 1 billion).
