Russian PM Mishustin gets infected with coronavirus

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin contracted COVID-19, state-run news agency TASS reports.

“It has just been revealed that my coronavirus tests have come back positive,” he told President Vladimir Putin.

To protect his colleagues against possible infection, the head of the government has self-isolated; he is going to follow doctors’ instructions. According to Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Mishustin is running a fever.

The Russian leader has signed executive order to appoint First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov as acting PM while Mishustin recovers from the novel coronavirus.

Earlier, Russia’s president, premier and members of the government took part a video meeting on economic issues.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Russia has risen by 7,099 over the past day to 106,498 in all regions, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Thursday.
