Pushkin in red: Unknown throw paint on Moscow’s gift

Unknown individuals damaged the monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin set up in a square near the hotel Belarus, Minsk News reports.

The hands of the figure were painted in red.

The Minsk police are working at the scene.

The monument was established on 10 July 1999 to mark the 200th anniversary of the poet’s birth. It is the government of Moscow that gave such a present to the Belarusian capital.
