The incident took place on July, 11 on board the aircraft which was flying from Irkutsk to Moscow. The diplomat was returning to the Russian capital after a business trip.
According to witnesses, the attacker, who was later detained, seemed to be mentally unstable. The diplomat got necessary assistance in the Polish consulate in Moscow and Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
The incident was reported to the police. After being carefully examined, the victim left for Poland.
The Polish side intends to ask the Russian authorities to probe into the attack and bring the offender to justice.
