Polish border guards prevented 50 kg of ecstasy worth about $2.5 mln from being smuggled into Belarus.

Such amount is enough to intoxicate a million people, Poland’s Border Guard Service stressed.

The drugs belonged to two Russian citizens, a man and a woman. On September 21, they tried to leave Poland via a border crossing in Sławatycze. When inspecting their car, the border guards found sealed packages containing ecstasy. On the black market, the cost of the drug could double.

The Russians were arrested; they may face up to three years’ imprisonment.
