Minsk Square to appear in Budapest

There will also be Days of the Belarusian capital held in the Hungarian capital in April.

One of the Budapest squares will be named in honor of Minsk. This was told to “Belsat” in the Embassy of Belarus in Hungary.

According to the embassy adviser Andrei Auramenka, this step is a logical continuation of the active cooperation between the two cities, which began two years ago. In its framework last year, the mayor of Budapest, István Tarlos, visited Minsk.

“Before, it was just a crossroads of three streets that did not have a special name. It is located near the embassy, just 30 meters away,” said Andrei Auramenka.

“We welcome the decision of the Budapest City Council to call one of the squares of the Hungarian capital Minsk,” the embassy said on Twitter. “It’s nice that the square is next to the embassy.”

Decision of the Budapest authorities is considered by the embassy an important step in preparation for the Days of Minsk, which will be held this year in April.

According to Auramenka, after the sign appears at the intersection and the name appears on city maps, the embassy will discuss the arrangement of this space.
