Mike Pompeo visiting Ukraine, Belarus next

On Friday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has met with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko. The diplomat arrived in Kyiv on January, 30.

After the official meeting, the journalists were asked to leave the conference room. The sides were announced to discuss issues of further political interaction on restoring the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, strengthening its defense capability, promoting the reforms in the country, as well as economic and investment cooperation.

The US top official is also expected to have talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On February 1, the US State Secretary will spend a few hours in Minsk and then fly to Kazakhstan. Initially, the diplomatic tour was scheduled for early January, but it was deferred to a later date due to the situation in the Middle East.
