Lukashenka outraged at long queueing for cancer operations in Belarus

President Alyaksandr Lukashenka has made a visit to the Belarusian National Cancer Centre on Wednesday.

“The main thing is to provide doctors with modern medical equipment. It is vital for our doctors to have the most advanced medical equipment, the same as in Germany, Israel and so on. There will be no excuses if some expensive equipment will stay idle somewhere next year,” state-run news agency BelTA quotes him.

Moreover, Alyaksandr Lukashenka expressed resentment over Belarusians’ long wait for cancer treatment .

Do you find it normal when people have to wait two or three months for treatment, and there is no transparency in queueing?” he wondered.

Shortly before the visit, representatives of the State Control Committee talked to the doctors and patients of the Centre and detected a number of problems, the Belarusian leader added.
