Lukashenka on Victory Day celebrations and his personal virus

In an interview with the Mir TV and Radio Company, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that Victory Day is a family holiday for his children.

During the interview, Lukashenka was asked how his children and grandchildren treat Victory Day.

“Victory Day, Independence Day is like a family holiday for us. And my elder sons bring up their children in the spirit of devotion to these traditions. So I am the bearer of this good virus of the Great Patriotic War, the values of this war, for children,” he said.

Lukashenka noted that he remembered the terrible poverty in post-war Belarus since childhood.

“There was nothing to eat. Belarusians had major task of providing Moscow and St. Petersburg with food. Sometimes people were fed on the residual principle. But somehow they lived, survived. No one was offended by anyone,” he added.
