Lukashenka most liked foreign leader in Ukraine


As recently became evident from the results of the research of the Ukrainian sociological group “Rating,” of all foreign politicians, the Ukrainians like Alyakasndr Lukashenka the most.

Sixty-six percent of Ukrainians think of Alyaksandr Lukashenka positively and only 15% negatively. German Chancellor Angela Merkel ranks second with 60% positive and 17% negative views. Polish President Andrzej Duda ranks third with 48 and 9%, respectively.

Then, in descending order of sympathies, French President Emmanuel Macron (39% and 17%), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (38% and 6%), British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (33% and 11%), U.S. President Donald Trump (30 and 42%), and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (28 and 20%) are placed. Ukrainians have the worst attitude towards Vladimir Putin: 71% – negative, only 15% – positive and 12% found it difficult to express their opinion.

Sociologists note that the views of Ukrainians differ greatly depending on the region. For example, in the East and South of the country Lukashenka, Erdogan and Putin are liked much more. In the West it is Duda, Trudeau and Trump. Lukashenka is mostly liked by the older generation, while Macron, Johnson and Trump are liked by the younger generation.

According to the Rating, Lukashenka and Putin are most popular among the less affluent segments of the population. And Duda, Macron, Trudeau, Johnson and Trump are popular among the wealthy citizens. Those who like Lukashenka, Putin and Erdogan in Ukraine mainly support the pro-Russian party “Opposition Platform – For Life”. They also regret the collapse of the USSR. Western leaders are particularly popular with supporters of European Solidarity and Voice.
