It is not ruled out that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini will make a visit to Belarus, top European diplomat Andrea Wiktorin said in an interview with news agency BelaPAN.
According to Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, Mogherini may arrive in our country for signing the visa facilitation agreement.
“Such option is being considered, dates to be agreed upon are being discussed. But she has a desire to visit Belarus,” Andrea Wiktorin stressed.
Moreover, Belarus and the European Union are highly likely to sign the agreement in the autumn of 2019, she said.
During the events linked to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels, Belarusian Minister Uladzimir Makey expressed hope that the agreement on visa facilitation would be signed before the end of the year. European Commissioner Johannes Hahn noted that the negotiations on this document were ‘more or less’ completed.
