Taking preliminaries into account, one might assume that two presidential candidates, MP Ingrida Simonyte and economist Gitanas Nauseda, will take part in the second round of the Lithuanian elections.

After all votes from all districts were received on Monday morning Ingrida Simonyte (31.35%) wins over Gitanas Nauseda; Lithuanian Prime Ministr Saulius Skvernelis got 19.86% of votes, delfi reports.

Runoff voting will take place on May 26.

Apart from the presidential elections, two referenda were held in the country on May, 12; the issues of reducing the number of MPs and expanding dual citizenship were submitted to the popular vote. But they have failed due to the low turnout.
