Dirk Schuebel may become new head of EU Delegation to Belarus


On July 9, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, announced a number of senior nominations.

German diplomat Dirk Steffen Schuebel was nominated as Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus. He is currently Head of the EEAS Russia Division and Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova. Before, Dirk Schuebel was the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine.

He will be formally appointed after receipt of the agréments.

Andrea Wiktorin, who has been Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus since 2015, was nominated as Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.
