Earlier, CBS News correspondent Chris Van Clive said on Twitter that, according to American officials, the Ukrainian Boeing was shot down by Iranian air defense system. The Newsweek magazine, citing sources in the Pentagon, said that the MAU aircraft was probably shot down by a missile fired from the Tor anti-aircraft missile system developed in Russia.
The New York Times, in turn, published a video, which, according to journalists, shows the moment when the missile hits a passenger plane.
On 8 January, a Ukrainian Boeing 737 crashed near Tehran airport. There were 11 citizens of Ukraine (2 passengers and 9 crew members), 63 citizens of Canada, 82 citizens of Iran, 3 citizens of Germany, 10 citizens of Sweden, 4 citizens of Afghanistan, and 3 citizens of Great Britain on board the PS752 flight of the International Airlines of Ukraine. In total there were 176 people on board, all passengers and crew members were killed.
