In December 2016, the club was opened; Olga Sedakova, a Russian translator, poet and theologian, became its first guest. At the invitation of the Belarusian Nobel laureate. writers Vladimir Sorokin, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Ruta Vanagaite, film director Alexander Sokurov, political analyst Stanislav Belkovsky, photographer and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand have already honoured the Belarusian club with their presence.

Bakharevich’s and Martsinovich’s appearance at Tuesday’s meeting comes as a response to criticism of the writer’s not inviting Belarusian guests to the club. The topic for discussion will be ‘The Price Of Compromise”.
