Belarusian fisher draws out Soviet-era manpads

A resident of Shchychyn spotted a strange-looking thing packed in bags and fished it out of a local lake.

The finding turned out to be a Soviet SA-16 Gimlet portable air defense system, influential Belarusian blogger NEXTA reported. Later, the information was confirmed by the Investigative Committee.

The police, investigators and the military arrived at the scene.

After the checking, the experts have stated that the object is a disposable launcher; as the missile was fired, it does not pose a threat to people.

However, the investigation team will have a number of examinations carried out in order to make final conclusions.
