Belarus eager to sell electricity to Poland

Belenergo offers Poland to sign a contract for the supply of electricity and is ready for the joint construction of the DC link, which will synchronize the Belarusian energy system with the EU, Director General of Belenergo Pavel Drozd said, Interfax-Zapad reports.

“We have offered Poland to work together, we have a channel between Brest and the Polish side of 110 kW today. Our proposals are currently being discussed. We offer the Poles to work through Lithuania, they have a channel (between each other) with what we later sell to Lithuania, while the Poles replace our electricity with Lithuanian one,” said Pavel Drozd at a press conference in Minsk on Thursday.

“We have even offered Poland to build a joint DC power supply, with the possibility to work together with the European Union in the future,” said the official.
