Belarus not happy with Russian bakery?

Phot. Eurasian Economic Commission

There is a number of restrictions on the import of bakery products to Belarus, Russian companies claim.

The issue was raised on October, 3 in Smolensk at the meeting of experts of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and business representatives of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The participants also complained about the price dumping on the part of Belarusian milk producers to Russia, the EEC reports.

In addition, they also discussed EAEU establishing new free trade zones with countries and the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses by Belarus and Russia.

In March 2019, Belarusian Prime Minister Ihar Petryshenka blasted the current state of the Eurasian integration: according to him, one cannot call the EAEU ‘economic union’, but just a free trade zone. In his opinion, there are too many exceptions in the operation of the common customs space; the customs transit freedom is still limited.
