Belarus and Russia could agree on integration in early 2020, Russian ambassador said

Belarus and Russia have every chance to sign an agreement on deeper integration in early 2020, the Russian ambassador in Minsk, Dmitry Mezentsev said, Izvestia reports.

According to the diplomat, it’s not right to rush signing the Action Plan on purpose.

“We do not need to organize any race or artificial competition — to do it within a day or a week. It’s much more important not to miss substantive points and fundamental interests of both sides,” said Dmitry Mezentsev.

He stressed that “there is a good chance to sign such significant documents early next year”.

Dmitry Mezentsev has added that road maps should be considered and implemented across the board rather than separately.
